  • Tour Itinerary

    Situated on Europe’s Atlantic edge, the Scottish Western Isles of the Outer Hebrides are a diverse chain of inter-connected islands with their own unique way of life. This ultimate island hopping tour offers the experience of remote landscapes and breathtaking scenery. Monday: Morning departure with comfort stops en-route we make our way north and cross the border into Scotland at Gretna where we stay for one night with dinner included this evening. Tuesday: Indulge in the full Scottish breakfast to set you up for the day.  Departing border country the scenery will change dramatically throughout the day as we pass wonderful mountain landscapes to reach Ullapool in the Scottish Highlands.  Here we stay for one night with dinner included this evening. Wednesday: After a leisurely breakfast we take the ferry from Ullapool to Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis.  Arriving around lunch time we enjoy some time to explore Stornoway, the largest town on the Western Isles. Later in the afternoon we make our way to the Cabarfeidh Hotel where we stay for two nights with dinner and full Scottish breakfasts included. Thursday: We remain on the Isle of Lewis today and enjoy a tour of the island’s fantastic scenery.  Lewis is one of the largest and well populated of the Western Isles but manages to remain unspoilt and uncrowded.  Home to some of the most important seabird colonies in the UK, the Isle of Lewis is a haven for all forms of wildlife. Friday: The Isle of Harris beckons today with its ever-changing kaleidoscope of striking landscapes.   Linked by road the drive today passes some of the most dramatic coastal scenery in the whole of the UK.  Time permitting we will also visit the Isle of Scalpay to admire its lovely waterfront villages before continuing to Leverburgh for the ferry to Berneray.  The breathtaking journey then takes us past stunning sandy beaches, fresh water lochs and rolling moorland to the Dark Island hotel on the Isle of Benbecula where we stay for the next two nights with dinner and full Scottish breakfasts included. Saturday: Take time over your full Scottish breakfast and prepare for another breathtaking day.  This morning we will explore the stunning South Uist, an island of the Outer Hebrides with crystal clear water and white powdered beaches as we make our way to the island's main settlement, and port, Lochboisdale. Sunday: Relax over breakfast before we say farewell to our hosts at the Dark Island hotel and travel to Lochmaddy for the midday sailing to Uig on the Isle of Skye.  We will travel past the Cuillin Hills and through Portree, the islands capital before taking the magnificent Skye road bridge to the Kyle of Lochalsh and on to our hotel near Fort William. Monday: After breakfast we drive along the shores of Loch Linnhe before travelling through dramatic Glen Coe.  The journey continues through Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park as we make our way to our last over night hotel in the Scottish Borders at Gretna. Tuesday: We depart Scotland after breakfast and retrace our steps home after a memorable Hebridean adventure. Price: £899.00* Single Supplement: £110.00
